Assignment # 2..

=**Network Topology:**=
-Is the Study of the arrangement or mapping of the elements (links, nodes, etc.) of a network, specially the physical (real) and logical (virtual) interconnections between nodes.

1.) Ring Type - all messages travel in a ring, either in clockwise or counter counterclockwise direction.

2.) Mesh Type - involves the concept of routes, where a message is sent on the network can take any several possible paths from source to destination.

3.) Star Type - a central connection point (called the hub) is used and all other devices.

4.) Bus Type - a common channel connects all devices.

5.) Tree Type - integrates multiple stea topologies together into a bus.

=**OSI 7 Layers**=

Application Layer - 7th layer - Provides communication services required for.

Presentation Layer - 6th layer - data representation, format translation and mapping.

Session Layer - 5th layer - Dialog management, synchronization point control etc.

Transport Layer - 4th layer - Guarantees data transmission between end to end.

Network Layer - 3rd layer - Routing function.

Data Link Layer - 2nd layer - Guarantees data transmission between adjacent system error control.

Physical Layer - 1st layer - connector and pins shapes transmission media.
